Answer these questions -
a> What state is your chemical in (gas, liquid, solid)?
b> Is your chemical man made or natural?
c> How is it made and what are the chemical reactions involved?
d> Where can it be found?
e> What is your chemical used for?
Example of chemicals of interest may be -
medicine e.g. antibiotics, penicillin, nicotine, paracetamol.
stimulants e.g. red bull ingredients, caffeine, amphetamines, cocaine, nicotine.
foods e.g. oil, sugars, vitamins, minerals
metals e.g. steel, gold
nanotechnology e.g. buckyballs, carbon nanotubes
fuels e.g. octane, petroleum, ethanol, alcohols.
WEEK 2 - Research this information and prepare a PowerPoint Presentation.

a> What element/s is your chemical made of?
b> What are their properties?
c> Where on the periodic table can they be found?
d> What type of bonding is involved with your chemical?
Part 3 - Make a podcast of your research and ideas about these questions-
a> What is your chemical used for?
b> What are the positive and negative aspects of your chemical?
c> What do you find interesting about this chemical? Part 4 - Make a glossary of relevant terms for your chemical on your wiki page.
Part 5 - Make a model or animation of your chemical and insert the image onto your wiki page.
